How do I help a business advertise to customers around their store(s)?

Showing a business how they can reach customers living close to their store location(s) is a fundamental feature of Precision Planner.

To map out distribution around a store location, first check within Locations Manager to see if the locations are in your advertiser database.

CREATE A PROPOSAL AROUND STORE LOCATIONS

Once business locations are added into the database, you can create location-based proposals.

1.  Open Precision Planner

2.  Click on the “Plan” tab

3.  Plot business locations

Under Selected Advertiser/Place (Type In), type in the name of the business exactly as it appears in the database. You can scroll through the list to find the business name to confirm the spelling. NOTE: If you just added a location and do not see it in the list, click the “Refresh” button that is found directly above the Plan tab toward the top of the page. Once you type in the business name and hit enter, the locations will be plotted on the map to the right.

4.  Set criteria for proposal

Use the options on the left side of the Plan page to set your criteria for the advertising proposal. Choose date range, Media Channel, Days and Media Class. A list of distribution methods will appear under Eligible Distribution Methods based on the criteria you have chosen.

Once your criteria is set, proceed to the Target tab.

5.  Set your distance for distribution

The default distance is set to find distribution within a 5-mile radius of each location. To change this distance, click in the text box under Radius (found on the left side of the page), type in your new distance and press enter. The distribution map and counts will change to reflect the new distance.  The total distribution for all distribution methods and days is shown in the upper right part of the screen.

 6.  Enter rates

Proceed to the Rate tab to enter CPM rates for the selected distribution methods. The Media Class for each distribution method can be found in the Summary on the right side of the screen.

 7.  Download Proposal Summary

Click on the Summary tab to view and download a one-page proposal summary.

To output the information, click on Download  (located in the upper right area of your screen).   A popup will appear on your screen allowing you to select the file format for the output of your information.  Best Practice is to select PDF, which will provide the detail you see on the screen.

Upon making your selection, a popup window will appear informing you the file has been generated.

Click on Download to complete the action.  The file will be saved to your computer and is also seen in the lower left corner of your screen.  To immediately view, click on the file to open.

This information may be emailed to your client or used as you prefer.

Proceed to the Profile Map or Profile Radius Map to view and download a map of the proposed distribution. To download, click the “Download” button in the upper right toolbar, then choose PDF. Set the Orientation to Landscape, then click Create PDF. Click Download once the PDF is generated. The proposal summary PDF is now saved to your computer.
